Last fall, the Canadian Society of Information Theory launched the Canadian Student Reading Group on Data Science, an online reading group for students to get together to study and discuss modern and classical materials on Data Science, and for students in Canada to develop active academic and social interactions. The Fall 2021 Edition of the reading group featured "deep generative models", which was a great success and attracted over 100 students Canada wide.

We are now launching the Fall 2022 Edition of the reading group. The reading group features "foundations of differential privacy" and is organized by Professors Shahab Asoodeh and Lele Wang. Starting from September 14, the reading group will meet every Wednesday 5:30PM (Eastern Time) on zoom for 1.5 hours. Each time, one person will lead the discussion of some papers in this area. You can take a look at the materials planned for reading in the paper list.

All students in Canadian universities are welcome to participate. Faculty members are also welcome to join. If you are interested in joining the reading group, please join the Slack Workspace of reading group here.

We look forward to seeing you this Fall!
